<h4>What does your business do to make your community a better place to live?</h4>The Naughty Cookie Co is an Artisan Gourmet Biscotti provider in Nova Scotia and are proud to be involved with our community at different levels. I enjoy participating with local groups and non-profit organizations as I have delicious products that make a wonderful addition to any silent auction or fundraising event. Using the best real ingredients and as local as I can find, it helps us to stand out from the rest. How do we make a BIG impact? The Naughty Cookie Co has been proud to donate and participate with organizations that help our community like: the Nova Scotia Food Bank, the IWK, Mount Saint Vincent University, Canadian Progress Club Halifax-Cornwallis (CPCHC) and their charities, local schools and churches and this year, as a sponsor for Dress for Success Halifax. Being a small business, donating money isn't always in the budget, but my time and products help these organizations raise some of the funds they require. It is very humbling to see where the money raised goes and what it is used for. I am one small business out of many that together can help to create that BIG impact in our community.<br /><h4>Why have you chosen to take this approach?</h4>The benefit to my community is that when small businesses like The Naughty Cookie Co. come together and share in supporting these organizations, it makes their jobs of raising money to buy the equipment, food, clothing, training needed a bit easier. It shows the community that I as a local small business owner care about what is happening around me in my community and I will do what I can to help. Relationships grow as well as trust and respect....it gives my company and myself a well-respected name in the community which is very important.<br /><h4>What advice would you give other business owners who might be considering this idea?</h4>When small businesses are seen participating outside of their store in the community, it helps to number one: encourage other small businesses to get involved in their community and number two: can raise awareness of how small businesses can come together and do BIG things. Without the support of the community small businesses would not survive so we can give back....I would encourage small businesses to get involved in their community as much as they can because together we can do great things!<br />
